Great place as a base to explore cenotes around and Chichen-Itza. The staff is super nice especially at the reception who gave us recommendations for everything from where to explore, cenotes and restaurants and they were all great! 10-15 mins walking to the center and 5 mins to the “nice” street and the convent. You can easily find parking on the street around.
I stayed at Hotel Refugio 41 during my trip to Valladolid, and it was one of those places that immediately makes you feel at home. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The outdoor pool area is simply lovely — surrounded by greenery and nature, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring cenotes or wandering through Valladolid’s colorful streets. What really makes this place special, though, is the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome and well taken care of, which gives the hotel a truly personal touch. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay that combines comfort, charm, and heartfelt hospitality, Hotel Refugio 41 is an excellent choice. I would absolutely stay here again.
Overall we had a nice stay. Pros Very friendly staff who gave a good introduction of less busy cenotes on day 1. We stayed here for two nights location is no amazing if you don’t have a car Staff is wonderful and very nice and attentive Rooms were very clean but very basic No long mirror in the room :/ and not enough place to hang your clothes but the place is very serene I wish they had a little bar and service at the pool. Breakfast is nice
Great place to stay, it’s a little gem behind the door! Rooms are comfortable and nice. The swimming pool area is great to relax. The breakfast is really good and fulfilling, thanks to the chef! Jesus is great and gave us good recommendations and helped us plan our stay in the city! I recommend it.
Great hotel for a good price! Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was good. The people were very friendly. The garden and swimming pool were perfect to cool down after visiting the city and maya temples. Would definitely recommend
We stayed for 4 nights and it was a very pleasurable visit. The room was beautiful with a cute balcony. It was clean and the whole hotel had a very modern and relaxing vibe. The receptionist gave us a lot of helpful tips about the city. Even thought the breakfast was always the same, it was very good and healthy.
Such a beautiful location! Super close to the old town Vallodidad, close to the convent and the pretty colonial street. The room was great, spacious and lots of places to hang clothes. It felt new yet super cosy. The balcony and the garden view was absolutely lovely, a little paradise in the busy city and the pool makes it even better. They also had a cute house cat. The staff in check in was super helpful, giving us information on restaurants and things to do in the town. Definitely recommend!!
